Installation of twenty loudspeakers reproducing spatialized sound

"What we offer tonight is the possibility to immerse yourself in the very heart of Benevolo's music like no nomadic virtual reality can do.
During the recording, Le Concert Spirituel, conducted by Hervé Niquet, was divided into eight choirs with four sung voices, each choir accompanied by one to six instruments. In all, forty-nine musicians, including three on polyphonic instruments, forming a perfect circle.
We placed four main microphones in the center of this circle, as well as two microphones per choir, or sixteen secondary microphones. Each of the loudspeakers you see here plays the sound picked up by only one microphone.
The secondary microphones, called auxiliary microphones, provide a little precision for each choir. It is therefore normal for you to hear more details of the choir you are approaching, as would happen in reality.
For the purposes of record publishing, these twenty microphones have been reduced to two channels for the compact disc version and five channels for the Super Audio Compact Disc (SACD) version, both versions cohabiting on the same medium."
