Vivaldi was first recognized for the secular side of his immense work, his sacred work only being rediscovered in the 1940s!
However, the "red priest" composed many masterpieces, especially during his service at the Seminario Musical dell'Ospedale della Pietà , a religious institution where orphaned or abandoned girls received a purely musical education. "Playing Vivaldi is simply euphoric. Approaching his music is a bit like going to a yoga class: sometimes you are reluctant to go, but in the end you are immersed in the greatest jubilation. After several decades of studying it, I admit I have still not tired of it."
